Gregor Olsavsky - Penn State Erie
Title: Basic Linear Algebra and MATH 220
Abstract
Our very own Gregor Olsavsky has recently published a
Linear Algebra text titled, simply enough, Basic Linear Algebra (iUniverse
2006). Scott Stevens will prelude the talk with a discussion of our quirky
MATH 220 course and the current concerns regarding the material that should be
covered in this course. The speaker (Gregor Olsavsky) will then present his take on these issues
and discuss how his book may be incorporated into such a class. Please
note: I requested the speaker to give this talk. He is not on a shameless
self-promotional tour. The talk will be accessible to undergraduates but
will be geared toward faculty who have, had, or will teach linear algebra.
