    Course Coordinator

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A COURSE COORDINATOR?

The primary purpose of the course coordinator is to guarantee a measure of equity among each of the sections of the course. This is to be done by:

    1. Collecting and reviewing syllabi and hourly exams from each faculty member teaching the course in question.

    2. Initiating informal dialog with other faculty members concerning the course.

    3. Ensuring that the prescribed topics of the course are covered in each section.

    4. Serving as an informal mentor for new faculty teaching sections of the course.

The following courses will have course coordinators: MATH 21, 22, 110, 140, and 141, along with other courses as needed.

Should the course coordinator find issues of inequity in a certain section, he/she will attempt to resolve the issue(s) directly with the faculty member in question. If the issue cannot be resolved, a report will be generated to the Program Coordinator by the Course Coordinator.
